This weekend! Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 20, 21 & 22, 2012!

All event are FREE and open to the public 
(park entrance fee required)

  • Music & Dance Performances begin at 9:00am & 1:30pm Sat & Sun
    • Sons of the Oglala & Creekside Drum Groups - Dallas Chief Eagle, Hoop Dancer - Traditional Lakota Dancers
  • Cultural Demonstrations from 9:00am to 5:30pm Sat & Sun
    • Flint Knapping, Atlatl Demo, Junior Ranger Programs & more @ BRVC* Handgames, Hide Tanning, Horse Races & Games @ WRVC*
      • Art and Craft vendors will have items available for purchase at both locations
  • Evening Programs @ 9:00pm at BRVC*
    • Friday: Ranger Lampson - "Prairie Dance, A Celebration of Life"
    • Saturday Keynote Speaker: "Traditional Lakota Philosophy," Jace DeCory, BHSU
    • Sunday: Ranger Conroy - "Lakota Star Knowledge & Sacred Sites"
  • Night Sky Program at 10:15pm at BRVC*
    • Observe the Badlands Night Sky using park telescopes & binoculars
  •  Locations:
    • Friday evening, Saturday all day & Sunday evening events held @ * Ben Reifel Visitor Center (BRVC), 9 miles south of exit 131, off I-90
    • Sunday events held @ * White River Visitor Center (WRVC), 20 miles south of Scenic, SD, Intersection of Hwys. 27 & 2
